Modeler's Notes: My Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair was built pretty much out of the box using a mix of Model Master acrylic paint for the finish, True Details wheels, 2 pound test fishing line for the aerial, W/florist wire wrapped springs. I used an old SuperScale decal sheet for the markings of Ken Walsh's F4U-1, He was the first Corsair Ace and the first Corsair Medal of Honor recipient.

The Chance Vought F4U Corsair was a carrier-capable fighter aircraft that saw service in World War II and the Korean War (and in isolated local conflicts). Goodyear-built Corsairs were designated FG and Brewster-built aircraft F3A.
